Aston Villa have officially announced Unai Emery’s arrival as Head Coach, and revealed details on his unveiling and first press conference.
The 51-year-old began work at Bodymoor Heath on Wednesday after his work permit formalities were completed, while the initial announcement of his appointment from the club was made on October 24, and so the wait for Emery’s official unveiling has gone on since.

However, as per the club’s statement, Emery will be unveiled on Friday afternoon at 1.15pm and will take his first press conference as Villa boss shortly after, as we get to hear from him for the first time since taking the job.
It promises to be fascinating discussion with the media as we will hopefully get some insight into his initial impressions after arriving at Villa, his ambitions and objectives in his new job, as well as how he intends to prepare and set us up for the clash with Man Utd on Sunday.
As seen in the image below, the Spanish tactician was finally pictured with the Villa shirt, something that supporters have been waiting for as we look forward to the start of a new era.
It’s arguably quite telling too that he got straight to business and started preparing for his first game in charge with the initial training sessions with the squad this week before doing any media work.
While we’re not privy to everything that has been happening behind the scenes, that perhaps says a lot about his personality and what we – and the players – should expect from him. It’s a positive sign as we certainly have a lot of work to do to improve our current situation and start climbing the Premier League table, but there is real excitement and optimism that Emery is an excellent appointment to take us forward.
It's officially official.
