The Aston Villa squad have travelled to Indonesia for the start of our pre-season tour of Asia, and some key faces have been spotted arriving.
This is likely to be the critical phase of our preparations for the new campaign, as is the case with any tour in pre-season, as the bulk of our training as an almost complete group will be done and the intensity of our games will pick up.
In turn, it was hoped that Unai Emery would have as close to a full squad as possible at his disposal, albeit those who featured in the latter stages of the World Cup are likely to still be on an extended break for a little while longer.

However, there was good news as footage reportedly emerged of the Villa squad arriving in Jakarta, as seen in the post below, with Alejandro Garnacho, Pau Torres, Evann Guessand, Boubacar Kamara, Alysson, Tammy Abraham and John McGinn confirmed to be among the group that has made the trip.
Brian Madjo and Ross Barkley also appear in the clips below, but it’s particularly important seeing the names mentioned above as they are all either recovering from injuries to get back to peak condition or joining up with the rest of the group a little later and playing catch up in terms of fitness work.
This next week or so will be crucial for Garnacho to settle and integrate into the group, while it remains to be seen if Guessand can play his way into a fresh start and second chance at Villa after spending time on loan at Crystal Palace in the second half of last season.
As for Pau, Kamara, Alysson and Abraham, they are coming back from knocks and so it will be a real boost to see them feature and get valuable minutes in our upcoming games, as we play three times in the space of six days which in turn will likely see Emery rotate and ensure that every player gets minutes.
For McGinn, he only linked up with his teammates at Bodymoor Heath earlier this week after his participation at the World Cup, and it will be huge to have our skipper back leading the way and setting both the example and tone for the work ahead.
