Boubacar Kamara injury update as recovery timeline touted for Villa ace

Aston Villa midfielder Boubacar Kamara is reportedly set to be sidelined for two to three weeks after suffering a leg injury.

The 26-year-old sustained the setback in our win over Tottenham in the FA Cup this past weekend, as he was forced after just nine minutes.

Although he did manage to try and play on and make his way down the tunnel unaided, the Frenchman was in clear discomfort and so there was a major concern that he may have suffered a serious blow.

Fortunately, that doesn’t appear to be the case, as Matt Maher of the Express and Star reports that Kamara is set to be sidelined for between two and three weeks, and although he is expected to undergo further testing, Villa don’t believe that it is a serious issue.

In turn, that’s a major relief given how influential Kamara is for us in midfield, and we’ll certainly need him to sustain our push for success this season as we remain in the hunt for silverware across three fronts.

Naturally, the Premier League title feels a little more of a distant dream at this stage even though we’ve put ourselves in a great position thus far, but the Europa League and FA Cup will certainly be targeted to end our trophy drought.

Kamara will no doubt play a fundamental part in helping us achieve our objectives, and although he could now miss our upcoming games against Everton, Fenerbahce, Newcastle United and RB Salzburg, he’ll hopefully return in February along with the likes of Amadou Onana and Ross Barkley to give us a timely boost in midfield.

Transfer speculation suggests that there could be movement in that department this month, but the most important thing for Emery is getting Kamara back healthy and playing a key role again.
