Injured Villa ace posts new update on his recovery work

Aston Villa ace Emiliano Buendia has posted an update on his ongoing recovery from the knee injury that he suffered on the eve of the season.

In our final training session ahead of our Premier League season opener against Newcastle Utd in August, the 26-year-old sustained a serious knee injury that is expected to sideline him for most, if not all, of this campaign.

While there is hope that he can feature towards the end of the year if he is of course given the green light to do so by the medical staff, much will depend on the speed of his recovery, with the focus on ensuring that he’s making consistent progress and avoiding any fresh setbacks.

The Argentine playmaker has been great at sharing updates since he sustained the blow with Villa fans naturally getting behind him and providing support, and he has offered a new one this week, as seen from his Instagram story in the tweet below.

‘Step by step’ reads the caption, as Buendia continues to put the hard work in to ensure that he comes back from this setback in strong shape, and it’s hoped that he has hit all of his targets on time thus far to provide positive signs.

Although Villa boss Unai Emery has alternative options in his squad to cope with the absence of Buendia, there is no doubt that we still miss his presence this season given what he offers when in the team, as well as how important he was for Emery after he took charge at the club last year.

In turn, although the expectation is that he still has a long way to go on his road to making a comeback, Buendia is continuing to put the required hard work in on his recovery, and it’s hoped that his spirits remain high and he will be able to target a return at some point in the latter stages of this season if possible.
