Emiliano Buendia has provided a new update on his recovery from injury, as the Aston Villa playmaker continues his long road to a comeback.
The 26-year-old sustained a serious knee injury on the eve of the Premier League season last month, and is subsequently expected to miss most, if not all, of the campaign as a result.

It was a bitterly disappointing blow for all concerned given how important a role Buendia has played since Unai Emery was appointed, and although we strengthened in that department over the summer, we’ll undoubtedly miss his qualities and characteristics in the side.
Although the club have not put a timeline on his recovery, there is hope that we’ll see Buendia feature again before the season is over, especially as we aim to still be in contention for major honours by then with domestic competitions and the Europa Conference League on our list of targets this year.
However, for now, it’s hoped that the Argentine international is continuing to make early progress in his rehabilitation, and he has posted a fresh update from what appears to be the gym at Bodymoor Heath.
As seen in the image below, Buendia is continuing to make steady progress with some weight-bearing work, and while it’s important to stress that it’s still very early in his recovery, it’s always good to see him post positive content as he continues to work hard.
It will be a challenging process for him both physically and mentally, and so it’s a real boost to see him staying active on his recovery plan and sharing that progress online to keep supporters in the loop and to give us a chance to show our support for him too.
Conversely, we’ve not had any update from Tyrone Mings since he suffered a similarly significant knee injury in our first game of the season, and so it’s just hoped that he’s working hard behind the scenes and all is going to plan for him thus far too.
Long road ahead of course, but always good to see an Emi Buendia progress update on his recovery 👊🏽🟣🔵#avfc #UTV pic.twitter.com/Kw2Ett1JKM
