Aston Villa have provided a fresh update on Jacob Ramsey as he appears to have returned to group training after his latest injury setback.
The 22-year-old missed the start of the season due a foot injury he sustained over the summer while on international duty, but he made his comeback in September and had an immediate impact.

Unfortunately, Ramsey suffered a recurrence of that problem after scoring in our 6-1 win over Brighton on September 30, and has been absent since as he recovers.
In what is a significant boost for Villa and Unai Emery though, the club have posted footage of the midfielder going through his paces in a group training session, which would indicate that he is back in contention to feature in our upcoming games.
It remains to be seen if he’s passed fit to be in the squad to face Tottenham on Sunday, but the fact that he’s stepped up his comeback and is making crucial progress, suggests that he’ll be available in the coming weeks.
While Villa have evidently done brilliantly without him so far this season given our Premier League standing and Europa Conference League progress, Â Ramsey adds quality, energy and a decisive impact in Emery’s preferred line-up.
Coupled with the return of Alex Moreno from injury, that will be a huge lift for the squad to welcome back two influential players, who will certainly make a big difference to our play down the left side given how well they fit Emery’s system and style of play.
If the Tottenham game comes too soon for Ramsey and it’s deemed to be not worth the risk, we’ll hopefully see him get minutes against Legia Warszawa on Thursday night and then build into featuring more prominently against Bournemouth next weekend.
With such a hectic schedule coming up between now and Christmas, it’s crucial we have as much of the squad fully fit and available as possible to cope with the relentless fixture list, and so Ramsey and Moreno will be vital boosts for us moving forward.
