Aston Villa midfielder Jacob Ramsey was involved in group training again on Saturday ahead of our clash with Brighton.
The 23-year-old has been ruled out of action since suffering a hamstring injury in our defeat at Liverpool on November 9.

It was the latest in a number of injury setbacks for the Villa ace in what has been a frustrating year or so for him, but there looks to be good news as we end 2024.
As per the image below posted by the club on X, Ramsey was involved in group training on Saturday as we prepare to host Brighton in the Premier League on Monday night, and so the indications are that he’ll be involved in the matchday squad.
Unai Emery provided a positive update on the midfielder in midweek as he suggested that he was potentially on track to be back in contention for our next game, and so this is another positive step in that direction.
“At the beginning, he is close to be in the squad, to be available to play, maybe on Monday,” Emery told the media on Ramsey, as per VillaTV. “But we have [Friday] resting and Saturday and Sunday preparing the match for Monday.
“The last training session he did normally with the team, and hopefully he will be in the squad for Monday.”
Ramsey has been limited to just 15 appearances so far this season, contributing just one goal and two assists in those outings.
In turn, he’ll be desperate to now stay healthy, get a consistent run of games under his belt, and try to get back to his best form to make an important contribution for Villa this season.
Beyond the fact that he’ll be another key option for Emery in the attacking third to rotate and keep others fresh, if Ramsey can rediscover the form that he displayed after the Villa boss was appointed, he can add a decisive dynamic to our play and help us compete on multiple fronts.
As noted above though, the first priority is to get back to full fitness and maintain that condition without further setbacks and spells on the sidelines continuing to disrupt his campaign.
With Ramsey, Morgan Rogers, Leon Bailey and others all fit once again, it will hopefully prove to be a pivotal boost through the middle part of the season as we look to kick on and start climbing the Premier League standings, while also trying to advance in the Champions League and FA Cup.
