Aston Villa boss Unai Emery provided an update on Jacob Ramsey after his injury setback against Liverpool.
The 23-year-old was forced off just before half-time as he suffered a hamstring issue while trying to defend in our third and regain possession.

It was immediately clear that he felt discomfort, and unsurprisingly he was unable to continue and was swiftly replaced by John McGinn ahead of the half-time interval.
Given the nature of the injury, it’s likely to be a lengthy stop for the Villa ace now in another frustrating setback after a string of injuries over the past year or so, but it’s hoped that he can receive treatment and recover over the international break.
Emery provided an update after our defeat at Anfield, and while he confirmed Ramsey picked up a fresh problem, he also suggested that Boubacar Kamara may have tweaked something in the latter stages after coming on from the bench.
“Hamstring,” he told the media after the game. “He was feeling something. Kamara as well he felt something on a run he did. We are playing lots of matches. They [players] are always in risk to have injuries. Ramsey is injured, hopefully not Kamara.”
With Matty Cash and Ross Barkley already sidelined, the last thing that we needed was to suffer more concerns, but it’s hoped that with our next game not coming until November 23 against Crystal Palace, those in question can recover in time.
For Ramsey, much will depend on the severity of the injury as not only could it sideline him for a significant period, but he’ll have to be careful as he makes his comeback to avoid the risk of aggravating it.
It’s another frustrating and disappointing setback for him as he seems to continuously suffer a fresh blow just as he’s getting back to peak condition and form, but for now the hope is that he doesn’t have to miss too much playing time and can prove to be a pivotal option heading into the festive period.
As for Kamara, it’s a risk he faces after a lengthy layoff of his own following the knee injury he sustained in February, but it’s hoped that it’s only a minor problem that won’t stop him from continuing to train over the break.
