Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has allayed any fears over Moussa Diaby and Boubacar Kamara as both came off late on in our win over Brighton on Saturday afternoon.
The French duo were highly influential in our stunning 6-1 win at Villa Park, producing key performances in attack and midfield respectively to ensure we dictated and controlled the game, while having a clinical end product in the final third too.

Both have proven to be pivotal figures in Emery’s side so far this season, and so there was some concern that both appeared to be withdraw with knocks in the latter stages this weekend.
While Diaby was seen holding the bottom of his back as he made his way off, Kamara limped badly to the side of the pitch with an apparent ankle issue, and so with our rotten injury luck so far this season, there were initial fears that they had potentially picked up problems that might sideline them.
However, speaking after the game, Emery has dismissed the potential of anything serious and believes that neither Villa player have suffered a signifiant injury blow, albeit they’ll undergo further tests in the coming days to determine their availability next week.
“I think he [Diaby] has some pain, but I don’t think it’s relevant for the next games,” Emery said, as per The Express and Star’s Matt Maher. “Kamara as well, hopefully not important.”
Villa face Zrinjski in the Europa Conference League on Thursday night before a trip to Wolves next Sunday afternoon, and so as we look to build on our impressive start to the Premier League campaign while getting the balance right in Europe too, it’s imperative that we have them both in contention.
Based on his early assessment, neither knock sounds serious, but naturally they will be assessed, and hopefully they’ll be at Emery’s disposal for the Wolves game at least, if he intends on resting them in midweek anyway.
Jacob Ramsey’s return to the bench this weekend was crucial as he also came on and scored, while Diego Carlos joined him there after his most recent setback and Tim Iroegbunam rejoined group training this week to give the Villa boss another important option in midfield.
What is the problem with a new Villa contract for Ollie Watson we have been faffing around this for ages. Carry on like this and he will be gone come January .
Just don’t understand what the club are hesitating over this
