Aston Villa boss Unai Emery is seemingly on the verge of receiving an important triple injury boost from Tyrone Mings, Boubacar Kamara and Matty Cash.
Villa have made a positive start to the new campaign with two wins in our opening three Premier League games, but we now face a busy September as we look to compete across three fronts with the Champions League and Carabao Cup getting underway.

In order to have the best possible chance of being successful in multiple competitions this year, Emery will need his entire squad to call upon, and it looks as though he could be edging ever closer to getting an influential trio back at his disposal.
As per Villa’s post on X, Mings is continuing to work with the rest of the group that has remained behind at Bodymoor Heath who haven’t been called up for international duty, as he looks to make his comeback after over a year out following a serious knee injury he sustained in our season opener last year.
The 31-year-old will be a fundamental depth option and competition in defence this season to give us another choice on the left side of our centre-half pairing along with Pau Torres, and so it’s hoped that not only can he return soon, but that he can get back to his previous levels quickly to make an important contribution.
Meanwhile, the club have also now confirmed that Kamara has rejoined group training for the first time since he suffered a knee injury of his own in February, and so it’s a fundamental step in his progression towards making a return too.
The French international is such a vital presence and influence for Emery in midfield with his ability in both phases and to help give us balance and fluidity, and while both he and Mings will still need time given how long they’ve been sidelined for, the mere fact that they’re back working with their teammates will give everyone a lift.
Nevertheless, ideally they will get a run out with the U21s at some stage in order to build up their match fitness and sharpness, rather than throwing them back into senior action immediately.
That’s not the only good news though, as Matty Cash is working hard in the gym as he recovers from a hamstring injury he sustained in our loss to Arsenal last month, as seen in the image from his Instagram story below, and the international break came at somewhat of a good time for him to continue to receive treatment and do his rehabilitation work without missing too much time.
It remains to be seen how long he’ll be sidelined for still, but the Villa right-back is hopefully not too far away from being back in contention, as his experience and quality will be needed to help out our younger options with Kosta Nedeljkovic and Lamare Bogarde both filling in for him since he sustained his setback.
It’s hoped that there is positive news across the board with the rest of the players too in that they’re all available when we face Everton this weekend, as the likes of Ezri Konsa and Leon Bailey could well be fresh doubts after suffering injuries of their own over the past week or so.
