Aston Villa boss Unai Emery has provided our latest injury news ahead of our Premier League encounter with Wolves on Sunday.
Villa were without a number of key players in midweek in our win over Zrinjski in the Europa Conference League, with several players joining long-term absentees Tyrone Mings and Emiliano Buendia on the sidelines.

Jacob Ramsey, Moussa Diaby, Boubacar Kamara and Alex Moreno were all ruled out of the European clash, and Emery has revealed that neither Ramsey nor Moreno will recover in time to face Wolves this weekend.
However, both Diaby and Kamara face late fitness tests on Saturday to determine their availability, and so it’s hoped that they can get the green light to make the matchday squad at least.
“For Sunday, no, they [Ramsey and Moreno] are not going to be available,” he told the media, as per VillaTV. “Jacob Ramsey will need time again to recover his injury. He has an injury and he’s not going to be available.
“Alex Moreno was progressing, he was working with the team, he was doing training sessions, but he needed to stop because he wasn’t feeling good. Now, he’s feeling better and hopefully after the break he could be with the group, training every day.
“Moussa Diaby and Boubacar Kamara are going to work with the team tomorrow. And in case they feel good, they could be [playing], but it’s not 100 per cent.”
It’s a blow losing Ramsey given he was working his way back into the side over the past fortnight, scoring a brilliant goal in our 6-1 win over Brighton last weekend too.
According to the Daily Telegraph’s Matt Law, the 22-year-old has suffered a recurrence of his metatarsal injury that he sustained over the summer while on England U21s duty, and that subsequently saw him miss the start of this season.
However, it’s added that while the initial setback ruled him out for almost three months, this isn’t as significant, and so there is a suggestion that he could be back in around six weeks time.
With the upcoming international break, it’s hoped that recovery timeline holds up and perhaps Ramsey can return ahead of schedule, provided that he is absolutely ready to make his comeback and there is no concern over another setback.
Meanwhile, as seen in his tweet below, Moreno is itching to get back into the action, but he’s still nursing the hamstring injury he sustained at the end of last season. Having returned to group training last month and seemingly been on the cusp of a return, the Spaniard has been pushed back and it’s hoped that we’ll see him later this month.
As for Diaby and Kamara, hopefully they were left out as a precaution during the week and will be available on Sunday, with their presence in the side crucial to our chances of securing a positive result at Molineux.
I really want to return to Villa Park and be able to enjoy and win with all the fans.
