Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings has provided another update on how his recovery has gone after suffering a long-term knee injury.
The 30-year-old sustained the setback in our opening game of the current Premier League season at Newcastle Utd, and is expected to miss the entire campaign as a result.

While he initially opted to go through his recovery process in private with no real updates being given directly from him or the club, Mings has begun to open up and give us insight into what the last few months have been like for him.
Having shared a video last month of the initial period after the injury, the next chapter of his insight focuses on the rehabilitation that he has been going through since undergoing surgery.
The Villa centre-half also reveals that not only did he suffer an ACL injury, but there was also additional cartilage damage, and so it’s hoped that the procedure produced the desired results, and he can continue to work towards coming back as strong as he was prior to the injury.
Mings shows real emotion throughout as he doesn’t shy away from the pain that he experienced after surgery, and it’s clear that he’s been through a tough time, not only physically, but mentally too, in having to deal with another serious injury that has sidelined him and prevented him from playing.
There is still of course a long road back for him as we’ll hope to see him in pre-season next summer, which seems like a more realistic option than being involved in the latter stages of this campaign, but it’s great to see him staying positive, working hard and he’ll hopefully be back with us sooner rather than later.
