Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings has dropped a big hint that he is now ready to make his comeback after a long injury layoff over the past year.
The 31-year-old has been sidelined since last August after suffering a serious knee injury, and after undergoing surgery, he has been on a gruelling journey through his rehabilitation to get back to this point.

After returning to group training earlier this season, Mings stepped up his workload over the past fortnight as he got minutes for our U21s side and in a touted behind-closed-doors friendly over the international break, and as per Unai Emery last month, the target was to make a return to the senior squad at the end of October.
Based on his social media post below, Mings is seemingly on track and is ready to return, as he dropped a major hint that he’s now at a point in his recovery where he’s back at Emery’s disposal.
It remains to be seen if the England international is ready to make the matchday squad when we face Fulham this weekend, but with a busy schedule coming up, it will be a huge boost to have him back in the fold as we also face Bologna and Bournemouth in the Champions League and Premier League respectively over the course of the next week.
Given his lack of playing time for over a year now though at the top level, Mings will almost certainly be gradually reintegrated back into the team, and so perhaps if he can get minutes in our upcoming games, he’ll be eyeing a starting berth when we face Crystal Palace in the Carabao Cup on October 30.
The same goes for Boubacar Kamara who is now in a similar position as he has recovered from a long-term knee injury too, and so to have two influential individuals back will give all concerned a crucial lift as we enter a critical period in our season as we look to compete on multiple fronts.
Mings will bring leadership, experience, physicality and aerial prowess to the backline, and it will undoubtedly be a boost for Emery to have the option to rotate his left-sided centre-half and rest Pau Torres in the coming weeks and months as he’ll have more depth and competition available.
