Aston Villa have revealed further details on our pre-season schedule, with friendlies against Eintracht Frankfurt and Roma now also confirmed.
While the squad is expected to report for pre-season training at Bodymoor Heath early next month, they’ll be put through their paces over the course of the summer as our preparations include a tour of the USA.

Time will tell how different the squad looks by then with the transfer window back open for business this week, but for Unai Emery, his full focus will be on ensuring that the players at his disposal are at their best physically when the new Premier League campaign gets underway in August.
While most of our pre-season games were already confirmed, the club have announced two more fixtures with a third game Stateside being scheduled to being our tour against Eintracht Frankfurt, while we’ll take on Roma at the Bescot Stadium in Walsall in early August.
That takes our schedule to six games as things stand, and it remains to be seen if there will be a final addition for the weekend before the new season begins.
These are two important additions to the pre-season fixture list against top opposition with plenty of talent, and so they should be good tests to help the players ramp up their workload and get in the best possible shape for the return of competitive football.
Further, the USA tour will be important from a commercial perspective as we continue to try and build our reach and fanbase in different territories to increase revenue opportunities, and so it hopefully proves to be a productive trip on and off the pitch, ahead of what we hope will be a successful season both domestically and in Europe.
