Aston Villa have confirmed that Aaron Ramsey has been recalled from his loan spell with Norwich City.
The 19-year-old joined the Championship side on a season-long loan deal last summer, and went on to score three goals and provide three assists in 18 league appearances.

Having worked with former Villa boss Dean Smith before his departure, it appeared to be going well for Ramsey as he was gaining valuable experience and playing time, but a knee injury – which required surgery last week – will force him to sit out the rest of the season.
As confirmed by the club’s statement, Ramsey has now returned to Villa as the club evidently feel as though it would be best for him to continue his rehabilitation and recovery at Bodymoor Heath where they can manage him and keep a close eye on his progress.
It’s a sensible decision for all concerned, and it’s hoped that Ramsey can now make a swift and full recovery in the coming months and get back out on the pitch as soon as he’s given the green light from the medical staff.
The midfield ace is one of many young talents with a bright future ahead of him at the club, and so it will be interesting to see what the plan is with him moving forward.
Another loan move would arguably be the obvious choice at this stage of his career, but Unai Emery will no doubt take a look at him along with the other youngsters returning from loan spells this summer and determine whether or not they feature in his short-term plans.
Ramsey was part of our squad that travelled to Australia for our pre-season tour last summer, and with older brother Jacob an established first-team player now, it’s hoped that his younger sibling can join him there before too long.
For now though, his full focus will be on coming back from his injury setback as strong as he was before as we hope he’s got a big future ahead in a Villa shirt.
