Aston Villa’s list of released players has been confirmed, with Robin Olsen and Kortney Hause included in the 13 individuals leaving the club.
It promises to be a busy summer for Villa in the transfer market both in terms of incomings and outgoings, but with contracts expiring this month, a number of players will play no further part in our future plans as the club have opted to not extend their respective deals.

While there are some notable talented youngsters included in the list who have impressed at youth level or sadly been blighted by injuries, it’s hoped that they’re able to go on and find another club where they can gain regular playing time and still flourish to fulfil their potential.
Kobei Moore is a name that stands out given his exploits for our youth teams, while there were high hopes for Ajani Burchall and Rico Richards when they were signed, but unfortunately it hasn’t worked out for any of those named above, hence the decision to part ways.
The list also includes Olsen, who will return to Malmo, after establishing himself as an important back-up option behind Emiliano Martinez during his spell with us, and although he didn’t always convince, Villa could find it tricky to bring in a goalkeeper willing to play that same role, should Martinez stay beyond the summer and do so with the same level of professionalism as the Swede.
As for Hause, the centre-half had horrendous luck with injuries in recent years, and after initially joining us in 2019, he went on to make 55 appearances for the club due to his setbacks. At 29 years of age, it’s hoped that he’s also able to find a solution that works for him to extend his playing days well beyond when he turns 30 next month, and we wish all those leaving Villa the best of luck moving forward with their respective careers.
