Amid speculation linking Aston Villa with a swoop, Chelsea are reportedly open to considering offers of around £40m for out-of-favour striker Tammy Abraham.
The 23-year-old has scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 31 games so far this season, but playing time has been hard to come by in recent times due to injury and falling down the pecking order under boss Thomas Tuchel.

As noted by BirminghamLive, that has led to speculation that Villa could be among the teams interested in the forward, following on from his successful loan spell with us as he fired us back into the Premier League with 26 goals in 40 games in a memorable stint at Villa Park.
Dean Smith has Ollie Watkins, Wesley and Keinan Davis at his disposal to play up front, and it’s fair to say that our biggest issue in recent months has been a lack of creativity and quality in the final third to provide our strikers with chances.
In turn, signing another frontman isn’t perhaps the number one priority this summer, but if Villa are indeed interested in a reunion with Abraham, then they will know how much it might take to prise him away from Stamford Bridge.
As per The Telegraph, Chelsea are said to be ready to move Abraham on, but they will look for a fee of around £40m to green light an exit this summer.
That’s a significant figure and so it remains to be seen if Villa’s priorities do lie elsewhere and ultimately that is where the bulk of any budget at the end of the season will be focused.
Nevertheless, Abraham would certainly add more firepower to the team, he’s familiar with the club and many members of the squad and was highly successful the last time he was with us. Time will tell if that’s enough to convince Villa to make their move in the summer.
