Aston Villa are reportedly keen on a big-money summer double swoop for Barcelona’s Ferran Torres and Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic.
It’s expected to be a busy summer transfer window for Villa, as Unai Emery will get his first major opportunity to strengthen his squad and mould it into his own.

Further, with the touted arrival of Mateu Alemany in a key role at the club moving forward, they will undoubtedly want to act swiftly to start transferring their vision into a reality.
According to Marca, Villa have identified Torres and Vlahovic as two targets this summer to bolster our attacking options, and it’s suggested that we’re willing to splash out more than €100m for the pair.
It’s added though that Torres isn’t keen on the idea of leaving Barcelona as the 23-year-old wants to prove himself with the Catalan giants, but with their financial restrictions and concerns, it’s suggested that they could be forced into making some difficult decisions at the end of the season.
Time will tell just how realistic either of these touted moves are, but given the quality that the attacking duo possess, it would certainly add firepower and class to our squad, and thus make us more competitive and dangerous moving forward as Emery looks to add different dynamics and tactical options to his group.
Torres has scored seven goals and provided two assists in 41 appearances for Barcelona so far this season, while he of course had a spell with Manchester City prior to that where he bagged 16 goals and four assists in 43 outings. He’s also excelled at international level with 15 goals in 35 caps for Spain.
Still only 23, he would be an exciting addition to the Villa squad if a deal can be done, with Emery undoubtedly relishing the opportunity to add talented young players who he can help improve and develop their ability to take their game to the next level.
As for Vlahovic, the 23-year-old has scored 12 goals and provided four assists in 37 appearances for Juventus so far this season, and that came off the back of an impressive stint with Fiorentina where he scored 49 goals in 108 games.
Whether it’s adding competition and depth alongside Ollie Watkins up top or bringing in a wide player, a position that Emery was keen to address in January, those are certainly two areas in which we need to improve over the summer but it remains to be seen if Torres and Vlahovic emerge as the solutions.
