Aston Villa are reportedly in talks with Luton Town as the newly-promoted side look to keep the services of Marvelous Nakamba for the upcoming season.
The 29-year-old joined Luton on loan in January and went on to help them secure promotion to the Premier League, making 20 appearances in the second half of last season.

Nakamba played a limited role for Villa prior to that following his arrival from Club Brugge in 2019, making 68 appearances for the club in his four years with us.
With the expectation that he’ll be surplus to requirements under Unai Emery moving forward, Sky Sports report that Villa and Luton are in talks over a move for Nakamba back to Kenilworth Road this summer, but it’s unclear at this stage whether it would be permanent or another loan spell.
It’s added that his wages might be a problem and so that is why a loan comes back into play, and so it remains to be seen if an agreement can be reached between all parties, with the Zimbabwe international’s current contract with Villa set to expire next summer.
With that in mind, Villa would surely prefer a permanent exit this summer to avoid losing him for nothing in 12 months time, and so time will tell what compromises are reached in order for that to happen, if at all.
Villa have added Youri Tielemans to our midfield department this summer, and along with Jacob Ramsey, Douglas Luiz, Boubacar Kamara and John McGinn, Emery has plenty of options in those roles with Leander Dendoncker still an option for depth.
Time will tell if we add more reinforcements to our midfield too, but that all suggests that an exit for Nakamba will be the best outcome for all concerned in the coming weeks.
