Aston Villa reportedly consider Morgan Rogers not for sale at any price amid ongoing speculation of interest from Chelsea ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 22-year-old arrived from Middlesbrough in January 2024, and has gone on an impressive upward trajectory since joining us as he continues to develop and improve his game under Unai Emery.

After a productive second half of last season, Rogers has firmly established himself as a crucial figure in the Villa side, making 53 appearances across all competitions this year while contributing 14 goals and 15 assists.
Coupled with his overall influence on our style of play and system as well as his versatility to operate in different roles in the final third, he’s a pivotal cog in how Emery wants us to play, and so he will be a fundamental option for the Villa boss moving forward.
In turn, according to The Telegraph, despite interest from Chelsea, Villa consider Rogers not for sale at any price, and so that reiterates just how highly he’s rated and how important he’s considered to be for us as he would undoubtedly represent a massive profit on the fee we signed him for and potentially ease our financial concerns.
Nevertheless, it’s good to hear that we seemingly have no intention of selling him, and it’s hoped that he can continue to take his game to higher levels under the guidance of Emery in the coming years.
It’s not all positive from a Villa perspective though, as the report does suggest that we’ll need to make a significant sacrifice next month to remain complaint with PSR, particularly if we fail to qualify for the Champions League, and so there will be a busy summer ahead and some difficult decisions for management to make in the coming weeks as they formulate a strategy to balance satisfying that criteria while making us more competitive.
Emery, Monchi and the rest of the hierarchy have worked meticulously to continue to improve the squad over the past two years, and while it’s hoped that we can continue to hold on to key individuals like Rogers and build around them, it’s clear that we’ll have to continue to evolve and make changes as we go too, and so time will tell who does depart this summer.
Agree 100% Rogers not for sale, and as far as I’m concerned the same should go for Martinez crazy to let him go
