Aston Villa have reportedly agreed a deal to sign Zepiqueno Redmond on a free transfer when his contract with Feyenoord expires this summer.
The 18-year-old has made a positive impression while coming through the youth ranks with the Dutch giants, and he has two goals in nine appearances at senior level since making his breakthrough.

Further, he’s been capped at U19s level for the Netherlands, and so the talented centre-forward appears to have a potentially bright future ahead of him for club and country, while he also boasts the versatility to be able to play across the frontline.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the next chapter of his career could now play out at Villa as we’ve agreed a deal to sign him as a free agent with his current contract set to expire next month, while he adds that the agreement will see him commit to us until June 2029.
It’s an exciting addition in relation to our long-term plans, as it’s hoped that Redmond can continue to develop and improve his game, and eventually make a breakthrough at senior level.
Should he join us as now expected, it will be interesting to see how Villa and Unai Emery approach his development though, as the likelihood is that he’ll either form part of our youth team initially, or perhaps even be sent out on loan to gain further experience at a high level.
Time will tell if he’ll be part of our pre-season plans so that the Villa boss can have a closer look at him before that decision is taken, but it’s an intriguing signing from the club, and it’s hoped that it proves to be a clever acquisition, be it that Redmond goes on to make an important impact at senior level for us, or possibly helps with our PSR standing further down the line as a wise investment.
It promises to be a busy summer for Villa with countless big decisions needed from the hierarchy, but they’ve evidently spotted a talent in Redmond that they feel will flourish under our watch and fit well with what we’re building, and we’ve wasted little time in swooping for him as we look to get our first deal of the summer over the line immediately after the campaign finished.
