Aston Villa’s 2021/22 Premier League fixtures confirmed

Aston Villa have had their Premier League fixtures confirmed for the 2021/22 season, with a trip to Watford opening things up on August 14.

The players will report back for pre-season duty on July 5, although some will naturally be absent as they’ve been afforded additional time off after international commitments.

Further, it remains to be seen how many new faces will be joining Emiliano Buendia in settling in at Bodymoor Heath this summer, as Dean Smith will no doubt hope to continue to add reinforcements between now and the start of the new season.

As seen in the tweet below, the new Premier League season begins on August 14, and Villa have an important August to prepare for as we face three difficult, but winnable games.

Watford away is followed by Newcastle Utd and Brentford at home, and with expectations and demands growing at the club coupled with early pressure on Smith if we start slowly, it’s imperative Villa start the campaign strong and pick up maximum points in those games.

Naturally, things get even harder the following two months, while we’ve got Chelsea on Boxing Day to look forward to and things wrap up on May 22 with a trip to Man City.

It’s always a big deal when the fixture schedule is released by the Premier League, and although the European Championship is currently ongoing, there is no doubt that there is a real buzz for the new season to start and for us Villa fans, to see Jack Grealish and Co. back in action on the pitch.
