Aston Villa face Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon, and here’s how Unai Emery’s starting line-up looks for the encounter.
Villa arrive at Stamford Bridge looking to end a seven-game winless streak across all competitions, but it certainly won’t be easy against a talented and in-form Chelsea side who are finding their feet under Enzo Maresca.

Despite our underwhelming run of results though, we have the quality in the side to get a win against any opposition if we play to our full potential, and it’s hoped we can deliver another big performance in west London to make it three consecutive wins from trips to Chelsea.
As per the club’s post below, Villa make two changes to the side that drew with Juventus in the Champions League in midweek, with Ezri Konsa replacing Diego Carlos in defence, while Jaden Philogene comes in for Leon Bailey.
It’s such a huge boost for Emery to have Konsa back from injury as he is a highly influential figure in our backline both in and out of possession, and so it’s hoped we can produce a strong defensive display to give ourselves the foundation to go on and win this game.
For Philogene, it’s a chance to impress and earn a bigger role moving forward, and so it’s hoped that he can play with more confidence and belief in his attacking ability to pair that with his work ethic, and potentially make a decisive impact in the final third to help us unlock the Chelsea defence.
This is the start of a busy week for us as we face Brentford and Southampton in the coming days too, and it would be such a boost for all concerned if we can secure a positive result and return home on Sunday with all three points.
