Confirmed Villa XI vs Crystal Palace: Four changes for season finale

Aston Villa travel to Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday, and Unai Emery has named his starting line-up for the encounter at Selhurst Park.

Villa have already secured fourth place and Champions League football for next season, but this promises to be a tough test given Palace’s recent form under Oliver Glasner, and so we’ll have to be at our best to get something from the game.

Injuries continue to disrupt our campaign though, with eight players missing this weekend as Matty Cash, Tyrone Mings, Youri Tielemans, Emiliano Buendia, Morgan Rogers, Nicolo Zaniolo, Jacob Ramsey and Boubacar Kamara are all sidelined.

Nevertheless, Emery has refused to use that as an excuse all season and so it certainly won’t change on Sunday as we look to break the 70-point mark while Ollie Watkins looks for his 20th league goal of the campaign.

In turn, there is still a lot to play for and so Villa will hopefully sign off on what has been a remarkable season in the perfect possible way with all three points.

As per the club’s tweet, Emery has made four changes to the side that drew with Liverpool last time out, with Robin Olsen, Clement Lenglet, Calum Chambers and Jhon Duran replacing Emiliano Martinez, Pau Torres, Youri Tielemans and Leon Bailey.

Neither Martinez, Tielemans nor Bailey have made the trip south as they’ve earned their rest, while Torres drops to the bench which also includes Emery’s son, Lander, among several other talented youngsters.

It’s still an experienced side with plenty of quality across the board, while it’s hoped that we see some of the youth prospects get minutes in the second half as Villa look to wrap up a brilliant season with one final win.
