Aston Villa face Young Boys in the Europa League on Thursday night, and Unai Emery has named his starting line-up for the encounter.
Villa will be looking to register a fourth win in five games in the competition as we currently sit in sixth place in the league phase standings, as we push to qualify in the top eight to secure a direct path to the knockout phase.
As per Emery in his pre-match press conference on Wednesday, the Villa boss confirmed that Tyrone Mings remains sidelined by injury, but the rest of the squad is available, including Amadou Onana after his absence last weekend after suffering a knock on international duty.

In turn, it’s a huge boost for Villa as we approach a hectic period in the fixture schedule, as it gives Emery the option to rotate and rest key individuals if necessary while having the quality in reserve to ensure there is no drop off.
As expected, he has made multiple changes to the side that started in our win over Leeds United on Sunday, and as per the club’s post below, it was seven in total, with Onana returning to the starting line-up while Harvey Elliott and Andres Garcia return to the matchday squad.
Emiliano Martinez continues in goal, with a back-four consisting of Victor Lindelof, Lamare Bogarde, Pau Torres and Ian Maatsen ahead of him.
Onana is partnered by Youri Tielemans in our deeper midfield pivot, while Evann Guessand, Morgan Rogers and Jadon Sancho will provide support for Donyell Malen in the final third.
That also means we have a strong bench with top options to come on and impact the game if needed, and so it’s hoped that we’re able to secure the desired result and take another important step towards securing our place in the next phase and bypassing an additional playoff round.
