Aston Villa reportedly have no interest in allowing an exit for John McGinn this summer as speculation has linked him with a move to Liverpool.
The 26-year-old has established himself as a fundamental figure in the Villa side under Dean Smith, making 37 appearances last season and contributing three goals and six assists.

His versatility saw him deployed in different roles in midfield too either in a deeper-lying position or a more advanced one in Jack Grealish’s absence through injury, while his work ethic and quality on and off the ball make him an invaluable part of the Villa side.
In turn, given his importance to the club, it would seem unlikely that Villa would entertain any interest in the Scottish international, and as per the Express and Star, it seems as though that is the case.
It’s reported that amid speculation linking Liverpool with an interest in McGinn, Villa will reject any approach for the midfielder this summer as they have no interest in selling, and have seemingly put in place a £50m price-tag in order to deter the Reds, or any other club, from making a bid.
Given his current contract runs until 2025 as well as the fact that he has such a big role to play for Villa as we look to kick on and compete for a place in Europe next season, it would appear as though McGinn is likely to be happy where he is for the time being.
If that is indeed the case, Villa will be delighted to keep him and help lead our charge, as we look to strengthen the squad this summer to make us more competitive rather than spend the window replacing key individuals.
