Barcelona forward Ferran Torres has been paired with a move to Aston Villa this summer, and he has been rather ambiguous when asked about his future.
As per Mundo Deportivo on Thursday, it has been reported that Villa are plotting a move for the 23-year-old, with talk of an initial loan offer and a purchase option of €25m.

While it’s added that a move is unlikely to materialise at this stage, it can’t be ruled out given Barcelona’s financial situation, and so time will tell how things play out over the course of the summer if they need to trim their squad.
Torres joined the Catalan giants from Man City 18 months ago, and he has gone on to score 14 goals and provide nine assists in 71 appearances having shown his quality in that brief stint in the Premier League as well as with Valencia previously too.
The Spanish international was asked about his future on Friday, and while he echoed the sentiment that an exit isn’t an imminent possibility, he didn’t exactly close the door on one entirely either.
“Today I am at Barça, but football takes many turns,” he is quoted as saying by Mundo Deportivo. “I have my phone on airplane mode, on July 10 I will open it.
“I’m just focused on myself, training, taking advantage of the pre-season that I couldn’t do last year and from here on, showing that I’m a great footballer.”
Villa are set to unveil Youri Tielemans as our first summer signing on a free transfer on July 1, and it’s expected that Pau Torres will arrive soon after as the pair will bolster our midfield and defence respectively.
Emery revealed his desire to bring in a right-sided winger to reporters back in January but a deal ultimately didn’t materialise, with Bertrand Traore emerging as a short-term solution in the back-end of last season.
With significant reinforcements expected this summer though, it is an area Villa will look to address. Time will tell if it’s Torres who emerges as the most likely solution or if we’ll have to consider alternative options if he wishes to remain at Barcelona, and the La Liga champions are in a position to ensure that is possible.
