Aston Villa youngster Omari Kellyman is reportedly set to sign a new contract at the club as we look to secure his long-term future.
Villa have produced a number of top talents in recent years, some of whom have moved on for significant transfer fees, while others will hopefully make a breakthrough at senior level this season with some also out on loan.

Kellyman has emerged as one of the latest and arguably most exciting talents we have at the club currently, making appearances in the Europa Conference League qualifiers as well as the Carabao Cup, while he’s been named on the bench for a number of Premier League games so far this season too.
Having only joined the club from Derby in March 2022, it has been a quick progression for the talented youngster, and having now turned 18 years of age, it appears as though Villa are keen to secure his long-term future.
As per The Express and Star, Kellyman is expected to put pen to paper on a new long-term Villa contract, and so it remains to be seen when that is officially announced by the club.
It’s a promising update on the teenager, as he has impressed at youth level and has certainly made a positive impression in limited time when making that step up to feature for Unai Emery.
With his technical ability, size, athleticism and threat in the final third, coupled with the room for improvement and development as he will no doubt mature and gain valuable experience over time, there is a lot of hope surrounding just how good he could be.
Naturally, time will ultimately tell if he does make that breakthrough and is considered a key member of our first-team squad on a consistent basis, and whether or not he’s sent out on loan in the near future to take that next step in his progression.
As with any top talent coming through the ranks, we hope that he’ll end up having a successful career in a Villa shirt, but just as we’ve seen with the likes of Jaden Philogene, Cameron Archer and Aaron Ramsey in recent times, there is also the business side of the game that comes into consideration too.
That could be an avenue that is explored further down the line, but for now, it’s important that Villa secure Kellyman’s future, and reward him for the progress he’s made thus far.
