Aston Villa have reportedly received a bid worth £100m from Manchester City for captain Jack Grealish as we edge closer to a decision being made.
Villa have successfully fended off interest in the 25-year-old in previous summers, but City are now said to be prepared to make our No.10 the most expensive player in Premier League history.

As per The Telegraph, the reigning champions have made a £100m offer for Grealish, and so it now remains to be seen whether or not a deal will be agreed between the clubs before the England international is given the opportunity to discuss personal terms.
Villa are said to have put a contract offer on the table to convince Grealish to stay at the club, and so ultimately it sounds as though the decision is well and truly in his hands as to whether he wishes to lead Villa forward or go in search of a better, more immediate, opportunity of winning trophies at the Etihad.
Given his influence in the side, it will be a huge blow for Villa and Dean Smith if our creative talisman moves on, and it could be argued that regardless of the fee being touted, he is an irreplaceable presence in the Villa XI given what he provides us with and his world-class talent.
In turn, it’s hoped that the Villa hierarchy can once again convince him to stay and sign a new deal as he did last summer, and continue to lead us forward for at least one more season to see if we can break into Europe.
Should Grealish decide to leave, it will no doubt come as a huge disappointment to Villa supporters given his connection to the club he has supported all his life and how he’s one of the most talented players we’ve seen in our colours in years.
Time will tell how the situation plays out, but there is still hope that Villa convince Grealish to stay and the link up with the likes of Ollie Watkins, Emiliano Buendia and other new signings this season as we continue to progress and compete at a higher level.
