Aston Villa have announced that Ezri Konsa has signed a contract extension which will now keep him at the club until 2026.
The 23-year-old joined us from Brentford in 2019 and has gone on to make 58 appearances in all competitions since having now firmly established himself as a pillar of Dean Smith’s defence.

The pair know each other well of course from their time together at Brentford, and the classy centre-half continues to improve and develop under the Villa boss.
With that in mind, it’s a huge boost to have his long-term future secured especially with the defence doing so well so far this season, as they are now on the verge of equalling a club record of clean sheets in a season with the tally at 14 currently.
Konsa’s partnership with Tyrone Mings with Emiliano Martinez between the posts behind them along with Matty Cash and Matt Targett on either side has become a staple of the starting XI this season, and he’ll now be boosted by his future being secured at Villa Park with this new deal.
Naturally, he was delighted with signing the new deal, as seen in his interview below, and he’ll hope to continue to push on along with the rest of the squad and help Villa make progress in the coming years.
