Aston Villa have submitted their Premier League squad, and it includes Tyrone Mings and Boubacar Kamara as they continue their respective recoveries from injury.
After a busy summer transfer window which saw movement both in terms of incomings and outgoings, Unai Emery now has his squad in place until January at least to make a positive start to the campaign.

With no more deals until the New Year, clubs are expected to submit their squads to the Premier League, with no more than 17 players who don’t fulfil the ‘Home Grown Player’ criteria, while an additional eight can take the total up to 25 players, all of whom must be ‘Home Grown’.
As per the Premier League site, Villa have now confirmed their full list, which can be seen below, and while it’s largely as expected, it was important to see both Mings and Kamara included as they continue their comebacks from injury.
Mings hasn’t played since the opening game of last season after suffering a serious knee injury, while Kamara sustained a knee injury of his own and has been sidelined since February.
The influential Villa duo have both been back in group training this month as they close in on a return, but it’s another key show of faith from the club that they have full belief in their ability to make a full recovery from their setbacks and get back to their previous levels.
There is also an additional list of our registered U21 players who are eligible to take the total number above the limit of 25 players, and that list includes the likes of Jhon Duran and Kosta Nedeljkovic.
While PSR and SCR constraints made life difficult for the Villa hierarchy to strengthen the squad this summer, we arguably do have more depth and a younger group that Emery will no doubt relish working with and look to take us to the next level.
It will certainly be a difficult task to replicate our top-four finish from last season, but after making a positive start after three games, it’s hoped that we can continue to build on that and keep everyone healthy this year, to maximise the quality available to the Villa boss in the list below.
Injuries and fatigue were major issues last season, and with our Champions League campaign getting underway next week too as well as the Carabao Cup this month, it promises to be a big challenge again, one which we’re hopefully better prepared and equipped for this time round.
