Aston Villa forward Zepiqueno Redmond has joined Annecy on a season-long loan deal and he is set to be joined by two more of our prospects.
The 20-year-old joined us from Feyenoord in January 2025, and with opportunities hard to come by at Villa, he secured a loan switch to Huddersfield last season to continue his development.
After scoring once in three appearances for the League One side, Redmond suffered a foot injury and was subsequently sidelined for the rest of the campaign, and so a decision was needed on his future this summer.

As per the club’s statement, the Dutchman has now joined Annecy on loan for the upcoming season, and so it’s hoped that he can stay healthy and secure a prominent role to showcase his talent.
There are high hopes that the talented youngster can go on to become a top player, and so it’s crucial that he makes the most of this latest experience.
He’ll reportedly have familiar company in France to help settle in too, as The Athletic’s Jacob Tanswell reports that both Kadan Young and Mohamed Kone are travelling to Annecy to complete loan moves of their own.
The Ligue 2 side form part of our ownership’s network of clubs, and we’ve seen the partnership utilised already with promising right-back Triston Rowe enjoying a productive loan spell there last season.
In turn, it’s hoped that Redmond, Young and Kone can all enjoy similar experiences during their time in France, and whether it’s ultimately with the view of breaking into the senior Villa squad further down the line or to earn a move elsewhere for a bigger role, it works in everyone’s favour if they can impress.
Villa are once again walking a financial tightrope this summer with sales likely needed to balance our books, but it doesn’t appear as though Redmond, Young or Kone will be departing on a permanent basis in this transfer window at least.
