Aston Villa are set to face Barrow in the second leg of the Carabao Cup, with a kick-off time and TV information now confirmed.
As well as trying to build on our 11th-place finish in the Premier League last season, Dean Smith and the squad will no doubt hope to enjoy a cup run this year too in order to try and win some silverware.

The first opportunity to do so will come through the Carabao Cup, but it’s a long road ahead given we start in the second round of the competition.
Having been drawn against Barrow earlier in the week, it has now been confirmed on the club’s official site that the game will be played on Tuesday, August 24, with a KO time set for 19:45.
Further, it’s been announced that the encounter will be shown live on Sky Sports, and so Villa fans will no doubt be tuning in to see if we can progress to the next round.
For Smith, it could be an opportunity to rotate and give other players an opportunity to impress, as given we’ve added to the squad this summer and now have options in various positions, we should be able to put out a strong side regardless of the number of changes made.
For now though, the focus is on Watford at Vicarage Road this weekend, as we look to make a positive start to the Premier League campaign and take that into the home clash with Newcastle Utd next weekend before facing Barrow.
