Official: Aston Villa confirm Tyreik Wright loan move to Salford City

Aston Villa have announced that youngster Tyreik Wright has joined Salford City on a season-long loan deal.

Villa have green-lit a number of temporary exits for some of the club’s top young prospects in recent weeks, with Kaine Kesler, Louie Barry and Brad Young among those sealing loan deals.

It will be seen as a crucial period in their development and improvement moving forward, with the ultimate aim being that they break into the senior Villa side further down the road.

Wright will have the same ambition, but as per the club’s official site, he will spend the rest of this season on loan at Salford where he’ll hope to gain regular playing time to take his game to the next level.

It comes after a temporary stint at Walsall last season, and so the 19-year-old will hope to show more of his quality this year as he looks to kick on and prove himself at that level to give Dean Smith something to think about when he returns at the end of the campaign.

After lifting the FA Youth Cup last season, Villa have a number of top talents coming through the ranks currently, with a couple in Carney Chukwuemeka and Jaden Philogene-Bidace set to make a significant breakthrough this season.

The others will hopefully see their progression and the pathway to enjoy a similar run, but time will tell if Wright will be among that group next year.
