Aston Villa have confirmed that Brad Young has joined Carlisle Utd on a season-long loan deal in the latest temporary move for one of our talented youngsters.
The 18-year-old was a key member of the side that won the FA Youth Cup last season, and while he bagged 21 goals and seven assists in 33 appearances last year, he scored a brace in the first Premier League 2 game of this campaign last week.

Young is undoubtedly a talented young player with a bright future ahead if he continues to improve and develop his all-round game, and so a loan move will hopefully help with that process.
As per the club’s official site, he has sealed a season-long loan move to Carlisle Utd, and so he’ll hope to gain plenty of playing time for the League Two side to pick up experience and improve.
He joins a number of our young stars to move on loan deals this season, with Kaine Kesler, Seb Revan and Louie Barry among those who have already secured switches elsewhere.
Dean Smith still has a group of starlets at his disposal with Carney Chukwuemeka and Jaden Philogene-Bidace at the front of the queue, but time will tell if there will be further departures moving forward.
For Young, with Danny Ings and Ollie Watkins ahead of him in the pecking order, it would have been difficult for him to get a look-in this season, albeit he would have undoubtedly benefited from training and learning alongside them had he stayed at Villa.
Nevertheless, Villa have opted to move him on for this season, and we all wish him well as he looks to return next year in a stronger position to stake a claim in the side.
