Aston Villa have unveiled the club’s third kit for the 2022/23 season with Castore revealing their latest new design.

After the switch from Kappa to Castore, our new kit manufacturer has revealed their latest offering which will be worn for the first time against Arsenal next Wednesday night in our Premier League encounter.

Featuring a string of first-team players including the likes of Diego Carlos, Emi Buendia, Philippe Coutinho, Ezri Konsa and Tim Iroegbunam in the launch video, Villa will no doubt hope that this is a popular new look amongst supporters, with the new kit now on sale.

In their statement on the club website, they noted: “Villa’s 2022/23 Castore third kit displays a fresh and dynamic graphic on a rich black base with punches of blazing yellow to present an electrifying look.

“Lightweight, durable mesh panels, laser-cut holes and angular side body panels provide ultimate breathability and an engineered fit for all athletes.

“The jerseys feature a 3D silicone Villa crest across both Replica and Pro editions, with the club’s iconic lion below the collar on the reverse.”

Judging from the reaction on the club’s social channels, it appears as though the new design and colour scheme has largely gone down well with supporters, but ultimately the most important factor is that the players feel comfortable in the new fit and are able to produce performances on the pitch in them.

Villa have started slowly this season with two defeats in our opening three Premier League outings, and with West Ham Utd visiting Villa Park this Sunday followed by that trip to the Emirates to face Arsenal next week with our new third kit making its first appearance, it doesn’t get any easier for Steven Gerrard with Manchester City to follow too.

The Villa boss will hope that our win over Bolton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday night gives all concerned a lift and a boost in confidence as we try to build some momentum, while it remains to be seen if there are any further reinforcements that arrive before the transfer deadline.
