Aston Villa playmaker Emiliano Buendia has shared an update on his injury recovery, one month after he underwent knee surgery.

The 26-year-old sustained his setback on the eve of the Premier League season in one of our final training sessions, and that in turn made it a bitter blow ahead of so much excitement for his role this year.

Naturally, it’s going to be a difficult process and journey for the Argentine midfielder in the coming months as he’s expected to miss most, if not all, of this campaign, and so it’s important the he keeps his spirits high and continues to make progress while being around the squad.

While we’ve seen him post regular updates over the past month and with the likes of Alex Moreno providing social media posts too as he supports his teammate, Buendia has now offered up a lengthy progress report on Instagram, as seen below, as he marks one month since he underwent surgery.

In addition to describing the emotions that he has been through, he sounded as determined as ever to come back from the injury as strong as before, while thanking the club and his family for their support thus far.

Further, he added a series of photos and videos that have charted his rehabilitation to this point, and albeit the exercises involved are all tentative and done with caution, Buendia is back on the bike and in the pool going through his work-outs, and it’s brilliant to see him making steady progress.

Time will tell if he can feature again in the back-end of this season, but the most important thing for now is that he continues to move in the right direction at a good pace and with no setbacks, while it was also great to see him post updates from Villa Park on Saturday as he attended our win over Crystal Palace and continues to stay close to his teammates.
