As seen in the video below, a whole host of our youngsters have returned to the fold, including the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Tim Iroegbunam and Tommi O’Reilly, as they all try to impress Emery in the coming weeks to earn a spot in his plans for the new campaign.

Time will tell if they are able to force their way into his squad or if a loan exit is more likely, but with a number of our regular starters returning later than them, this week is a big chance for them to stake their respective claims.

Meanwhile, there was also a sighting of Morgan Sanson as he has returned from his loan stint at Strasbourg in the second half of last season, perhaps with a fresh chance to impress Emery now we have significantly more games to play this year.

A lot of key decisions will be made in the next few weeks which will see Emery continue to mould the squad into his own, and so while it’s promising to see all these individuals back in training, time will tell if that’s preparation to help our cause this season or if they will ultimately seal moves elsewhere instead.
