Aston Villa have reportedly expressed interest in West Ham United forward Jarrod Bowen, but a deal is seen as difficult to do.
The 29-year-old could be on the move this summer following West Ham’s relegation from the Premier League last season, and after joining the Hammers in 2020, he has since gone on to score 85 goals and provide 63 assists in 280 appearances for the club.
With his quality, experience and fit for where Villa might look to strengthen Unai Emery’s squad this summer, a potential swoop would make a lot of sense, but it certainly sounds like a complicated move to get done.

As per The Athletic, Villa have expressed a ‘strong interest’ in the England international, but no talks have taken place between the two clubs as of yet and a sale is likely needed first in order to give us the financial flexibility to lodge a bid.
Further, it’s added that Bowen hasn’t made a decision on his future as of yet, and with a touted £50m asking price and with West Ham said to not be looking to sell, at this early stage, it sounds like a non-starter.
Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see how it develops in the coming weeks and months if Villa are in a position to launch an official proposal, as bolstering our attacking threat out wide and in the final third would certainly be a welcome move ahead of next season.
That said, spending what would likely be a significant chunk of our potentially limited summer transfer budget on Bowen could be deemed questionable for some, with the hope being that our scouting and recruitment team are able to unearth some top talents with significant upside in the coming years.
Time will tell who Villa sign this summer to improve the squad and build on our success from last season, but Bowen is said to be a transfer target for now although there is still so much time ahead for other options to emerge as we wait to see who might leave to open things up for us.
