Aston Villa have reportedly made a contract offer to Marseille midfielder Boubacar Kamara, while Morgan Sanson and Matty Cash have been linked with exits.
Villa’s more immediate focus will be on Southampton this weekend, and Steven Gerrard has been clear in terms of wanting to finish the Premier League season well to then be in a position to have a strong summer transfer window.

While we did some significant business in January, the summer will serve as a bigger opportunity for the Villa boss to continue to mould the squad into one he feels is capable of challenging, and so the expectation is that there will be further signings and exits once the season has concluded.
Villa-Boubacar Kamara contract offer touted
As per JeunesFooteux, Villa are said to have already offered a ‘big contract’ to Kamara, with the 22-year-old’s current contract with Marseille set to expire this summer.
The report adds that it’s expected that he will move on, and while Barcelona, Dortmund, AC Milan, Juventus, Arsenal and Newcastle Utd are named as just some of his suitors, it appears as though Villa are trying to steal a march on the competition.
Gerrard is said to be a fan of Kamara and has made him a priority to be our solution in the No.6 role, and so a contract is said to have already been offered to the Frenchman as we try to secure a deal.
Time will tell whether or not it’s successful, but signing a player of Kamara’s quality and potential, particularly on a free transfer, would undoubtedly make for great business.
Sanson, Cash Villa exit rumours
According to JeunesFooteux, they also suggest that Sanson is attracting interest from elsewhere, with Rennes, Lille and Crystal Palace all said to be monitoring him.
It’s been a frustrating spell at Villa for the Frenchman to date, as injury problems and competition for places have resulted in him playing a limited role for us and has kept him on the fringes.
Given he’s impressed for the most part when involved, it would be a real shame to see him move on this summer, and so it’s hoped that he can impress between now and the end of the season to convince Gerrard to not only give him a more prominent role in the coming months, but also to secure a long-term future at the club.
Sanson isn’t the only Villa player to be linked with an exit this week, as the Daily Mail report that Atletico Madrid are interested in Cash and they could make their move for the Polish international at the end of the season.
The 24-year-old has firmly established himself as a key figure for Villa since arriving in 2020, and while we do have options who could come in to replace him were he to move on, it would certainly be a shame to see him leave as he continues to improve and develop his game to become one of the top players in his position in the league.
