Aston Villa winger Leon Bailey is reportedly set to undergo a medical on Wednesday as he nears a move to join Hull City this summer.
The 28-year-old has been a valuable member of the Villa squad since he joined us from Bayer Leverkusen in 2021, but he has struggled to showcase his best form over the past two seasons.
That in turn led to a loan spell at Roma last year, and it appears as though he could now be on the verge of securing a permanent switch to start a new chapter in his career.

According to HullLive, the Jamaican international is set to undergo a medical on Wednesday afternoon after fresh talks led to a breakthrough between the two clubs, and it’s added that Hull are now keen to wrap up the deal before the weekend to bring in their new recruit.
It’s also suggested that Bailey himself pushed for the move, and if true, that further reinforces the consensus feeling that parting ways this summer is the best solution for all concerned.
Although Unai Emery has continued to show faith in Bailey, he has struggled to have the level of impact needed on our right wing, particularly as we now keep pushing to compete for silverware and to consolidate our place in the top four in the Premier League.
While there are high hopes for Alysson this season and beyond, it remains to be seen if Bailey’s departure opens up space for a new signing of our own to fill the void he leaves behind, but clearing his wages and receiving a decent fee would certainly help with our financial situation in relation to UEFA’s regulations.
Time will tell if the transfer now goes through without any late issues, but this latest update certainly suggests that the move is very much on, and it could be finalised in the next couple of days which may in turn be a relief for Hull, Bailey and Villa, as all three parties will no doubt benefit from the deal.
