Villa unveil new away kit for 2023/24 season

Aston Villa have officially unveiled our new away kit for the 2023/24 campaign, with the club confirming it will be worn for the first time against Brentford on Sunday.

The club’s partnership with manufacturer Castore continues this season, but we saw the introduction of BK8 and Trade Nation as our main shirt sponsor and sleeve sponsor respectively on our home shirt earlier this summer.

It’s expected that those two new deals will significantly increase income from sponsorship compared to our previous agreement with Cazoo which is crucial, but naturally the design and look of the new away kit will be the main talking point amongst supporters.

The white shirt also contains great detail as it depicts the ‘lions that have represented the club throughout its existence’, as per the club’s statement, and it’s a ‘visual timeline print that tells the story of the club’s journey since our foundation in 1874’.

It also of course has our new crest for this season, albeit it remains to be seen if that stays in place beyond this year given the club opted not to make it a universal brand change beyond the kits.

Naturally, as with any kit launch, this one will likely split opinion amongst the fanbase, but we’ll see the players perform in it for the first time on Sunday as we conclude our Premier League Summer Series tour of the USA in Washington against Brentford.

Villa face a trip to Newcastle Utd on the opening weekend of the Premier League campaign, and so that is likely to be our first look at it in competitive action, with the hope that the players deliver a big performance to get the season started in positive fashion.

Meanwhile, the club has also released the training range for the new season as well as the home and away goalkeeper kits, and so all that remains to be unveiled now is the third kit, which is likely to be revealed closer to that August 12 start.
