He has evidently done enough to convince the club that he should be given a deal and has a bright future ahead of him, with Villa confirming in a statement on Wednesday that he has put pen to paper on a contract, albeit no specific details were provided.

Burchall is the latest in a long line of prospects who Villa have shown faith in by offering terms, while he’s part of a group currently that also includes the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Carney Chukwuemeka and others who are striving to make a breakthrough at senior level on a consistent basis in the years to come.

It’s an exciting development and a well-earned one given he’s only been at the club a matter of months and has already convinced the club to hand him a deal, and so he’s clearly impressed the Villa coaching staff and hierarchy enough to be given an opportunity to now kick on and make his mark at Villa.

The expectation moving forward is that he’ll remain with the U18s and U23s and go through a steady progression, and it’s hoped those experiences help him mature and develop his game consistently until he is deemed ready to be either loaned out for regular first-team football or is handed a chance to impress at Villa.
