Aston Villa are reportedly not working on a potential swoop to sign Divock Origi from AC Milan this summer.
The expectation is that the club will be busy in the upcoming transfer window, as we back Unai Emery and allow him to stamp his mark on the squad and strengthen it where necessary.

Having allowed Danny Ings to move on in January, the responsibility of leading the line has solely been on Ollie Watkins, and while he has thrived on that pressure for the most part, additional firepower will be needed moving forward to ensure we can compete over the course of a campaign and across multiple fronts.
Emery does have a decision to make on the future of Cameron Archer as he’ll return from a successful loan spell at Middlesbrough, but the Villa boss will surely be keen to sign another forward too with Jhon Duran also continuing to push for a bigger role.
According to Fabrizio Romano though, one player who isn’t on our transfer radar currently is Origi, as despite speculation suggesting otherwise and that we could be following his situation at Milan with an exit being touted, Romano has insisted that Villa aren’t in talks over a potential deal as things stand.
That ultimately comes as quite a relief given the 28-year-old Belgian international’s struggles this season, having managed just two goals and one assist in 35 appearances for the Rossoneri.
While injuries have also been a problem for him, he hasn’t had the desired impact for the Italian giants after his move from Liverpool last summer on a free transfer, and it has to be said that it’s difficult to see what he would add that should make him a priority to even take minutes off Archer and Duran.
In turn, the hope is that if Villa do move for another striker this summer, the calibre of player we bring in is much higher and their recent form is a lot better, as we’ll surely be looking to focus on quality over quantity to build and improve on what we already have at the club for Emery to continue to take us on an upward trajectory.
