Aston Villa have confirmed that Kadan Young has joined Annecy on a season-long loan deal in another temporary switch for one of our young prospects.
The 20-year-old has come through our youth ranks and impressed, and at times he has threatened to make a breakthrough at senior level under Unai Emery, albeit he has been limited to just three appearances.
In order to gain more experience, develop his game and hopefully take that next step in his career, Villa have approved a loan switch for the talented youngster as he now looks ahead to a new challenge.

As per the club’s statement, Young has joined Annecy on loan for the upcoming season, as he joins Zepiqueno Redmond in France following his move being confirmed just 24 hours earlier.
With the Ligue 2 side forming part of our ownership’s network of clubs after they acquired a minority stake in it earlier this year, we’re seemingly keen to utilise that relationship as an opportunity for our youngsters to go across and improve, with Triston Rowe benefitting from the switch last season.
While it’s unclear as this stage what the long-term future holds for Young, his primary focus now will be on making the most of this move and showcasing his talent.
Time will tell if that impresses Emery enough to integrate him into his plans next season or not, but it could also open the door for a permanent move elsewhere which could give Young a chance at establishing himself in a more prominent role.
In turn, it’s hoped that the loan proves to be productive for him and he’s able to play regularly and impress, and the same applies to Redmond and Mohamed Kone, who is reportedly set to join them at Annecy shortly too.
