Official: Aston Villa confirm signing of Caleb Chukwuemeka

Aston Villa have confirmed the signing of Caleb Chukwuemeka from Northampton Town, who now joins his younger brother Carney at the club.

Villa have made a real point of continuing to add young talent to our youth system this summer, as we have seen a number of top prospects come through the ranks and push for a long-term future with us.

Carney Chukwuemeka is at the front of that queue along with Jaden Philogene-Bidace as the pair are expected to be involved with the first-team this season, while a string of their former teammates have secured loan moves to gain experience and come back better players next year.

As per the club’s official site, Villa have now confirmed the signing of Caleb Chukwuemeka from Northampton for an undisclosed fee, with the 19-year-old making 28 appearances for the senior side last season, scoring two goals and providing one assist.

Time will tell how Villa see his development going over the coming years, but it’s his brother who has stood out as the top talent that is emerging at the club currently, and it’s hoped that he gets chances to impress this season and makes a real argument to be heavily involved under Smith.

Having his brother at the club to help with that process and to make an impact himself while pushing each other on will hopefully benefit all concerned, and so the pair will be reunited this week and will look to make a big impression as we prepare for Newcastle Utd at Villa Park on Saturday afternoon.
