Across all competitions, he scored 20 goals and provided five assists in 26 appearances, and so he undoubtedly has a bright future ahead of him if he continues on his current path.

As he prepares to take the next step in his career, Villa have opted to send him out on loan to gain experience and valuable regular playing time, with Ipswich securing a deal for his services.

As per the club’s official site, he will join the Tractor Boys on a season-long loan deal, and the hope is that he will kick on and develop his game with a view of making a long-term breakthrough at Villa.

He follows Seb Revan and Kaine Kesler Hayden in securing a temporary move away from the club, with Villa undoubtedly hoping that they all benefit from their respective experiences and eventually challenge for a place in the senior side.

Time will tell if others follow suit, but Barry will begin life at Ipswich this week hoping to enjoy a successful stint and to not only showcase his talent, but to take his game to the next level too.
